Dear Riverdale Heights Families,


Riverdale Heights Spring Program, Tuesday, April 4th: Please join us for our K-6 Spring Program that will feature all of our K-6 students, along with our 5th and 6th grade choir and 6th grade band! We are so excited for the opportunity to perform for you this year! There will be two all school performances this year. The first performance will begin at 9:00 AM for families of students with last names that begin A-K. The second performance will begin at 1:00 PM for families of students with last names that begin L-Z. The doors will open ½ hour before the performance allowing audience members to find seats.

Parking will be available in the parking lot and on the playground hard surfaces. Parking is prohibited in all bus and fire lanes, including the front of the school. We encourage families to take advantage of our program shuttle bus. Seating will be saved for shuttle riders.

Our shuttle will run from Crow Creek Park, 4800 N Devils Glen Rd at the following times:

A-K Program- 9:00 AM Program

8:40 AM Depart Crow Creek park

8:45 AM Arrive at Riverdale Heights

10:10 AM Depart Riverdale Heights

10:15 AM Arrive at Crow Creek Park


L-Z Program-1:00 PM Program

12:40 PM Depart Crow Creek Park

12:45 PM Arrive at Riverdale Heights

2:10 PM Depart Riverdale Heights

2:15 PM Arrive at Crow Creek Park

If you are riding the shuttle, please call the front office (563-332-0525) and let us know which program you are attending and how many people will be riding the shuttle. This will ensure enough seats for the shuttle riders.


Grandparents / Grandfriends Day - April 5th: We will be hosting Grandparents / Grandfriends Day from 9:00 - 10:30 on Wednesday, April 5th. We asked that families RSVP for this event by today, March 24th. If this slipped your mind following Spring Break, please let the office know ASAP so we can prepare for the number of guests we will host in each classroom. This event is for Grandparents / Grandfriends only. Parents and younger siblings should not attend.

*Student art work will be displayed throughout the building during the Spring Program and Grandparents Day! Please take a minute to check it out when you visit!


Attention 6th grade families: Iowa Immunization Law requires all students entering 7th grade to have one dose of Tdap vaccine and one dose of Meningococcal vaccine. Once these have been completed, please provide the updated immunization certificate to your school nurse. The State of Iowa allows NO grace period for the start of the school year. Students without evidence of these vaccinations or an immunization exemption certificate on file will be unable to attend school in August until the requirement is met.


Pleasant Valley Educational Foundation Golf Outing: Join us for a wonderful day of golf at Palmer Hills and support scholarships for our seniors. If you want to golf, we have limited spots! If you’d like to be a hole sponsor or donate a prize, we’d love to hear from you. Click here to help PV students!


Yearbooks: Make sure to order your yearbooks through Infinite Campus before 3/31. The office will not have extras to sell. Yearbooks are $17.

Glow Disco: Tickets for the annual Glow Disco are available for purchase! Pizza packages, glow t-shirts and more can all be purchased online and will be sent home with kiddos before the event. PVHS RAP 2023: Because of the significant price increase from TBK sports complex this year, the PVHS PTA is seeking corporate or personal sponsorships to help offset the high cost. If you or someone you know would be interested in helping, please fill out this form. Feel free to share this post to help get the word out.

PV Summer Robotics Camp: Registration is now open for "NXTreme Explorations" Robotics Camp! This camp is a summer opportunity for students to explore robotics through the use of LEGO Mindstorms NXT robots. Pleasant Valley students who are entering grades 3-8 for the 23-24 school year are invited to register. Link to online registration form.

NEW TO CAMP: *BattleTops* for students entering grade 3. Campers will build and program LEGO tops to compete for the title of longest spinning.

X-plosion 6U: Time is running out to register your daughter for the X-Plosion 6U Introduction to Softball Program! This program is for players with birthdays between January 1, 2016 and April 30, 2017. The program lasts 8 weeks beginning May 1 on Monday and Thursday nights from 4-5 at TBK. Cost is $75.00. Registration closes April 1st!
