Dear Riverdale Heights Families,
New CDC Guidance: Yesterday the CDC released new guidance stating anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in large or small indoor and outdoor activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing. As part of the new release, the CDC's school guidance remains unchanged for students and staff through the end of the school year due to the number of students who are not able to be fully vaccinated at this time. We ask that you share this information with your child(ren) to avoid confusion. We continue to be grateful for your support and partnership!
Also, the CDC recommends that the Pfizer vaccine be used for children 12 to 15. Because we are at the end of the school year and students would not be in school for their second vaccine, we will not be holding a clinic for this age group. However, the Scott County Health Department has resources for you to obtain a vaccine for a child 12 to 15. Scott County COVID-19 Vaccine Options
Online 21-22 Registration: If you have not already registered your student for the 21-22 school year, please do so by Monday, May 17. Click here for instructions.
PV-Issued Devices:
Students who are attending school in person and have checked out a device (iPad/Chromebook) from the district are asked to return the device and charger to the classroom teacher by May 17. These devices will be collected, checked back in, and redistributed to the classrooms for use the rest of the school year.
Online Students that have checked out a device (iPad/Chromebook) from the district are asked to return the device and charger to the administration center (525 Belmont Rd) either on June 7 from 7:00am - 12:00 pm or June 8 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
Attention 6th grade families: Iowa Immunization Law requires all students entering 7th grade to have one dose of Tdap vaccine and one dose of Meningococcal vaccine. Once these have been completed please provide the date to your school nurse. The State of Iowa allows NO grace period for the start of the school year. Students without evidence of these vaccinations or an Immunization Exemption certificate on file will be unable to attend school in August until the requirement is met.
Meals Available for At-Home Learners: Meals will be available every Monday from 10:00 am – 11:00 am for 100% online learners. You’ll pick up all your meals for the entire week. You must fill out this form every week by Monday at 6:00am to register for the meals. Meals are currently free because of a government program.
